For over 20 years, the De dwa da dehs nye>s Aboriginal Health Centre (DAHC) has been a leader in providing culturally safe, relationship-based, and client-directed healthcare services. As one of ten Aboriginal Health Access Centres in Ontario, DAHC delivers comprehensive Primary Care and Health Promotion programs tailored to Indigenous communities in urban settings.

Three Sisters Consulting’s Strategic Planning Team is currently conducting an Organizational Review to assess DAHC’s operational framework, training needs, and communication processes. This initiative aims to optimize service delivery, modernize organizational practices, and maximize efficiency while ensuring that DAHC continues to provide exceptional, culturally relevant healthcare.

Scope of Work & Key Deliverables
Three Sisters Consulting is leading this initiative through:
  • Training Needs Assessment: Identifying opportunities to enhance staff skills and capacity-building efforts.
  • Organizational Review & Process Optimization: Evaluating DAHC’s existing practices, workflows, and staffing to pinpoint areas for improvement.
  • Strategic Communication Enhancement: Revamping internal and external communication processes to strengthen engagement and collaboration.
  • Two-Eyed Seeing Approach: Integrating Western and Indigenous perspectives to establish culturally informed benchmarks for success.
Project Status & Next Steps
The Organizational Review is currently underway, with ongoing assessments and strategic recommendations being developed. Three Sisters Consulting continues to work closely with DAHC leadership to ensure the organization remains at the forefront of Indigenous-led healthcare innovation, making the best use of existing resources while enhancing service effectiveness.

Sarah Hopkins

Sarah Hopkins, our Matriarch, is Turtle Clan of the Lenni Lenape who were displaced from their homeland of Lenapehoking (New York City) to Eelŭnaapéewi Lahkéewiit (Delaware Nation) in southwestern Ontario. Sarah is a Day School survivor who was raised by her Mother, who taught her the importance of standing up for what you believe; her Grandmother, a residential school survivor; and her Great-Grandmother, who spoke only Lenape. With the support of her family, Sarah founded Three Sisters Consulting in 2018, a company dedicated to amplifying the voices of Indigenous Peoples and helping them achieve business, professional, and personal success. Sarah is an active member of her community; she served as an Elected member of Council for her Nation, Treasurer and Board Member for her tribal council, and current Board Member for the Canadian Mental Health Association, Lambton Kent chapter. She has worked with not-for-profits, governments, and corporations on a variety of topics including Indigenous legal systems, economic development, mining initiatives, Impact Benefit Assessments, negotiations, and Indigenous engagement impacting legislation. When she is not working, you can find Sarah looking for opportunities to share space with our extended community across Turtle Island.
