Project Overview
- Client: Ontario Federation of Indigenous Friendship Centres (OFIFC)
- Project Location: Ontario, Canada
- Start Date: 2022
- End Date: 2023
The Ontario Federation of Indigenous Friendship Centres (OFIFC) supports Friendship Centres across Ontario, which serve as critical hubs for Indigenous community services, including education, employment, health, and cultural programming. However, staff at Friendship Centres often face challenges related to low wages, limited job security, and inadequate funding.
To address these concerns, Three Sisters Consulting assisted in developing Human Resource advocacy materials for the Decent Work Toolkit. This resource was designed to educate funding partners and policy-makers on the importance of investing in Friendship Centre employees and ensuring fair wages and job security.
Scope of Work & Key Deliverables
- Data Collection & Analysis: Conducted on-site interviews and staff surveys to gather firsthand insights.
- Advocacy Materials Development: Assisted in drafting the Decent Work Toolkit to highlight the expertise of Indigenous staff.
- Final Report: Compiled testimonials and employment data to support funding advocacy.
Project Outcome
The Decent Work Toolkit has been successfully integrated into Friendship Centre advocacy efforts, leading to stronger funding requests, greater public awareness, and enhanced policy engagement with governmental agencies.Delivered Project
